Today Is Very Boring

Today is very boring,
It's a very boring day,
There is nothing much to look at,
There is nothing much to say,
There's a peacock on my sneakers,
There's a penguin on my head,
There's a doormouse on my doorstep,
I am going back to bed.

Today is very boring,
It is boring through and through,
There is absolutely nothing
That I think I want to do,
I see giants riding rhinos,
And a ogre with a sword,
There's a dragon blowing smoke rings,
I am positively bored.

Today is very boring,
I can hardly help but yawn,
There's a flying saucer landing
In the middle of my lawn,
A volcano just erupted
Less than half a mile away,
And I think I felt an earthquake,
It's a very boring day.

The trouble with Swimming Pools...

You can go from this...

To this in just 4 days!!!!

After much debate we decided it IS worth dumping the money into it this late in the swimming season in hopes it will save us time and money when we reopen next May.  We are $140 in and our pool looks like this.  Not green but VERY cloudy.

I am really hoping that as soon as tomorrow I will be posting a pic of a sparkling clean and inviting (if not a tad freezing) pool :)  Here's to hoping

And here it is!!!!  VICTORY :)

Abbey Turns 1!!!

For Abbey's 1st Birthday we had a uber intimate party with just the immediate family, the child I watch during the day and my close friend Lori. The whole vibe that evening was all about Abbey!
When I brought Abbey downstairs after her nap she immediately started pointing and gabbing about the balloons, flowers and decorations "Booooons, boooons". It was a surprise twist for her to notice the decorations let alone appreciate them so much (and no Cindy she didn't even cry for the Birthday Song).

As I started thinking about the different words and various other skills she can do this is what I came up with...
She says:
Hi, cheese, flower, water, balloon, Aedan, Adam, Meg, Rowenna, dog, uh oh, I'm all done, night night, yum, popcorn, down, up, window, cat, Mom Mom, DaDa, baby, duck, owch, book, noodle, cracker, banana, thank you and I am sure I missed at least one.

She can also find her ears, eyes, nose, mouth, toungue and toes when asked. Makes numerous animal sounds, can stand up by herself, blows kisses and gives bear hugs!

Abbey has a strong habit of throwing food all over the floor. She has discovered that if she follows Aedan around the house and makes sounds like he is attacking her that he will get in trouble!! But not anymore (poor Aedan)

Oh Yea and did I mention she likes cake :)

Aedan Turned 4!!!!

This year we tried something different for Aedan's Birthday.  We dodged the party and packed up our stuff and went CAMPING!!!  We ended up deciding on Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes Deleware http://www.destateparks.com/park/cape-henlopen/index.asp Yes camping...At the Beach!!!

This turned out to be a fantastic idea.  Cape Henlopen is a great, family friendly, affordable, close beach.  Less then a 3 hour drive!  That's closer then Ocean city guys.

We had a fantastic time with just the family camping and beaching.    Camping at the beach is exhausting but exciting and I know something Aedan will talking about for YEARS to come.  Piictures will be added to this as soon as I figure out how

Here goes Nothing!

i have always wanted to start a blog.  one of my "guilty pleasures" is sitting down and reading through my friends blogs slurping in the details and adorable pictures of the "outside world".  The truth is I am a horrible writer and a introvert :) yes the 2 things that have historically made good bloggers.  So, here goes nothing!!
